Expanding an architecture practice into
a multi-scale design business
What can an architect do besides designing buildings?
At this exclusive event, Jenny Wu of Oyler Wu and LACE, will talk about being a woman in design; how she started her companies; and how early decisions that she stumbled upon unexpectedly helped shape the trajectory on expanding their design practice into 3d-printing and fabrication. Together with Dwayne Oyler, their work has been published globally and hailed for their young and independent spirit in design.
Widely covered by the news and media in the US, Jenny’s avant-garde architectural work, merges her modern design sensibilities with the latest in 3-D printing technology, material research and fabrication.

ABOUT THE SPEAKER
Jenny Wu is the partner of LA based Oyler Wu collaborative and the founder and the design director of LACE, a line of 3D printed wearables. She was recently named one of the 4 design visionaries by Porsche and Dwell Magazine in their "Powered by Design" documentaries, showcasing her pioneering work in 3D printing.
The office has won numerous awards, including the 2013 Design Vanguard Award from Architectural Record, 2013 Emerging Talent Award from AIA California Council, 2012 Presidential Honor Award for Emerging Practice from AIA LA, Taiwan’s ADA Award for Emerging Architect, and 2011 Emerging Voices Award from the Architectural League in New York.
Together with Dwayne Oyler, they published, Pendulum Plane, in 2009, and most recently, Trilogy: SCI Arc Pavilions, in 2014. Jenny is currently a member of the design faculty at Sci-Arc (Southern California Institue of Architecture), Columbia University GSAPP as well as Harvard Graduade School of Design (GSD). Jenny Wu received a Bachelor of Arts from Columbia University and Master of Architecture from Harvard University Graduate School of Design.
