ULI Shanghai Talk and Tour of the Shanghai Natural History Museum
ULI Shanghai are pleased to invite you to join a talk on the Shanghai Natural History Museum, followed by a tour. The Shanghai Natural History Museum has been one of the hottest tourist spots since it was newly re-opened and is designed by Perkins+Will, a global architects firm. The 44,517 square meter (479,180 square foot) museum offers visitors the opportunity to explore the natural world through the display of more than 10,000 artifacts from all seven continents. The overall shape and building organization was inspired by the nautilus shell, one of the purest geometric forms found in nature. The building includes exhibit spaces, a 4D theater, an outdoor exhibit garden, and a 30-meter tall atrium that welcomes visitors with an abundance of natural light filtered through a striking glass wall inspired by the cellular structure of plants and animals.
Mr. James Lu, Principal, Managing Director, China, Perkins+Will, will lead the talk and share the design concept and highlights of the museum. While one expert from the construction team of Shanghai Natural History Museum, will talk about the whole building process of the museum, in which he engaged. After the talk, Mr. James Lu will also lead a tour through the museum.
