Harvard-East China Normal University Chamber Music Concert

The concert will show achievements of academic exchange between Music Departments of East China Normal University and Harvard University, including chamber music in different styles from Christopher Hasty, Professor of musicdepartment at Harvard University, John Adams and Leonard Bernstein who are renowned Harvard alumni, and contemporary Chinese-Style works from Chinese renowned cposers Jiafen Gu, Yi Xu and Associate Professor at ECNU YanZheng who is also a Harvard alumnus. The concert includes duet, piano trio, string quartet, vocal chamber music and other forms, showing diverse concept and style in contemporary music, as well as collision and blending of Chinese and Western musical culture. In concert, we invite Julia Glen, former concert master of Harvard Radcliffe Orchestra, and American Chinese violinist Lin Chang, young violinist Xin Jin, Dejing Wen and Shuangze Xie young cellist andSilver Award winner in Golden Bell Awards Jingjing Cai, young pianist Dr. Qingzhou Jiang and Chuheng Wu, young violist Dapeng Sun, and many otherperformers from music department of ECNU. The concert is a Chamber music feast blending Chinese and Western music and academics and will also provide positive effects on promoting the construction and development of campus culture.
