The Harvard Center Shanghai cordially invites you to a talk and reception with Professor Joshua D. Coval, Jay O. Light Professor of Business Administration at Harvard Business School, on Thursday, March 13th, 2014. Professor Coval will give a presentation entitled “When Smart Money Gets it Wrong”. 

The talk will focus on how financial markets adapt, evolve, and learn and how, at times, markets become severely mispriced by investors relying on quantitative financial models. The talk will focus on the recent financial crisis but also draw parallels to several other historical events including the stock market crash of 1987 and the 1998 failure of Long Term Capital Management. The talk will be entirely non-technical.
